Privacy statement
Information held about doctors
bpacnz will maintain a secure database containing the following information:
- MedReg data updated regularly from the MCNZ MedReg database.
- Enrolment data information provided by each doctor when they enrol in the programme.
- Records of training activities entered by each doctor into their ePortfolio.
- A register of contact, recording all contact (email, phone etc) between each doctor and bpacnz relating to their participation in the programme.
Some of the information outlined above is held separately from the doctor’s training records, but all information held is available on request.
bpacnz recognise the sensitivity of this information and therefore will ensure all appropriate measures are employed to protect the doctor’s privacy.
Confidentiality
All personal information collected through this ePortfolio system and related activities are protected by the Privacy Act 1993.
As part of the terms and conditions, information collected through this system will be available as appropriate to:
- bpacnz staff involved in administering the system:
all information submitted to the recertification database and all other information that may be held about a doctor.
- Directors of Clinical Training, Supervisors, Censors and others appointed to provide educational feedback and assessments.
No patient identifying data should be entered into the system at any stage.
